2015 study tour showcase

To celebrate our successful 2015 pilot study tour to the UAE and Qatar, Australia-Middle East Journalism Exchange held an event on 30 July to showcase the CAAR delegates’ work and thank our partners.

We were honoured to welcome Mr Mohammed Al-Jabir, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar; Mr Greg Ralph, Assistant Secretary of the Middle East Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; faculty and staff from the University of Canberra; and leading members of the Canberra community.

While displaying slideshows of photographs, Scherry and Zac reflected on the study tour and shared their key insights and learning experiences.

Scherry presented a short teaser of a longer video she is in the process of producing about Arab women’s fashion:

Managing director Scott Bridges also detailed plans for two study tours in 2016 — one from Australia to the Middle East, and one from the Middle East to Australia — and previewed other activities AMEJE has in the pipeline.
