In between working visits to newsrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the 2016 CAAR delegates visited a number of the UAE’s cultural sites.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi
Despite the extreme heat, the delegates enjoyed a guided tour and then watched the sun set over this magnificent building.
Sharjah Fort and Museum of Islamic Civilization
The delegates spent an educational day at two of Sharjah’s many museums.
A day-trip to this town on the Omani bordered allowed a visit to the small but fascinating National Museum, offering delegates insight into life in the UAE all the way back to the Bronze Age, plus a photo opportunity at nearby Jebel Hafeet.
The 2016 University of Canberra study tour was supported by the Australian Government through the Council for Australian-Arab Relations (CAAR) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. AMEJE is extremely grateful for this support.
