A month after our 2016 University of Canberra delegates returned to Australia from their study tour in the UAE and Qatar, we hosted a formal celebration and showcase event on the university campus. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to share their learning experiences with tour stakeholders and members of the Canberra community over morning tea.
Helena, Naomi, Chester and Sarah then each delivered presentations providing an overview of their experiences in the Gulf, their observations about Middle Eastern cultures, and critical reflections on diverse journalistic work practices.
AMEJE Managing Director Scott Bridges gave his sincere thanks to study tour partners the Council for Australian-Arab Relations and the University of Canberra, before AMEJE Director Damian Doyle outlined some of our exciting plans for 2017.
The 2016 University of Canberra study tour was supported by the Australian Government through the Council for Australian-Arab Relations (CAAR) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. AMEJE is extremely grateful for this support.
